Support
Headway is a live map of U.S. passenger trains, on the web at headwaytransit.com and as an iPhone app. About Headway lists the agencies it covers and explains its data. If something isn't working or you have feedback, we want to hear it.

Common questions
The map says my location is off.
Headway only shows your position when you've granted location permission AND turned on the "Show my location" toggle. To grant permission, open iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Headway, and choose "While Using the App." Then in Headway, tap the locate-me button on the top-right of the map.
I see "Can't reach the network" everywhere.
Headway needs an internet connection to fetch live train data. If you're in an area with poor signal (a subway station, a tunnel), try again once you have a connection. If your connection is fine and you still see the error, it may be a temporary outage on our end — try again in a few minutes, or email us if it persists.
A train isn't showing up.
Headway pulls from the same real-time feeds the agencies publish publicly. If a train isn't running its scheduled service that day, or if the agency's feed is delayed, the train won't appear on the map. Cancelled trains are shown with a red "Cancelled" badge for the rest of the service day.
The delay is wrong.
Delays come straight from the operating agency's GTFS-Realtime feed. We don't compute them, edit them, or smooth them. If they look wrong, they probably are at the source — agencies occasionally publish stale or misleading updates. We do our best to clamp obviously-wrong values (e.g. negative delays) but the underlying feed is the source of truth.
Saved trains disappeared.
Your bookmarks are stored on your iPhone, not in any account. They will be lost if you uninstall and reinstall Headway, restore your phone from a backup that predates the install, or switch to a new device without restoring. Future versions may add cross-device sync.
How do I unsubscribe from notifications?
Headway 1.0 doesn't send notifications. If a future version adds them, you'll be able to disable them in iOS Settings → Notifications → Headway.
Privacy
